General Secretary

Omar J. Memon

Omar is a data centric professional. Having worked at Fortune 500 and mega health care companies, his experience spans order-to-cash and procure-to-pay across several countries in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia and he brings this wealth of knowledge to PTI. He also has experience in crisis response and crisis management.

Born in Karachi to a progressive bureaucratic family, Omar was raised in both Karachi and Lahore. While in Pakistan, Omar’s schooling included Karachi Grammar School, Aitchison College, LACAS, and the Lahore School of Economics.

Omar transitioned to the U.S. for undergraduate studies at Indiana University graduating from the Kelley School of Business with a degree in Finance. He was honored as one of the top ten leaders of his class for adding value to different parts of the campus from student life to coaching & development to sports and the Greek/fraternity life. He continues his civic engagement to this day by serving on the Board for the Council of American Islamic Relations’ Missouri chapter. The Council is at the forefront of protecting the rights of the Muslim community within Missouri. Omar has also obtained his MBA in Finance from Washington University in St Louis and Omar’s infatuation with politics began brewing when he first learned about the “brain drain” term in school and often wondered why such a young country was experiencing this phenomenon while simultaneously also hearing “Pakistan mein buhat talent hai aur buhat resources hein” (Pakistan has a lot of talent and an abundance of resources).

In the recent elections held, Omar was elected as the General Secretary of the Midwest Region. His goal is to mobilize and galvanize the Pakistani diaspora in the region to partner with local leaders in Pakistan to help exact actionable and measurable on-the-ground change across the country with the fundamental goal of sustainably uplifting the masses.
